Mr. Danny Dru Edwards, age 59, a resident of 9720 N.C. Highway 306 South, Aurora, died Friday, March 5, 2010.
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by pastor Melvin Haas.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Harold Lewis, Frankie Jones, Frankie Bright, Ken Young, Bobby Mitchell, and Britt Mitchell. Mr. Edwards was born in Beaufort County on January 1, 1951. He was the son of Myrna Ruth Walls Edwards Cadwell and the late Hertford Harding Edwards. Mr. Edwards worked in construction as a pipefitter/welder.
On January 18, 1985, Mr. Edwards married the former Jessie Bonner, who survives.
Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Jessie Bonner Edwards of the home; two sons, Dru Edward Franklin of Ernul, Joshua Bryan Edwards of the home; his mother and stepfather, Myrna Ruth Walls Edwards Cadwell and George H. Cadwell of Gilead Shores; three sisters, Peggy Ruth Bright and her husband, Frankie, of Chocowinity, Debra Gail Clark and her husband, Michael, of Blounts Creek, Mona Joy Fleming and her friend, Charles Morton, of Bayboro; two brothers, Michael Earl Edwards and his wife, Dale, of Blounts Creek, Gregory Dale Edwards of Blounts Creek; three stepbrothers, George Harold Cadwell III of Hernando, FL, John Frederick Cadwell of Orange Park, FL, Charles Hardee Cadwell and his wife, Cindy, of Raleigh; two stepsisters, Elizabeth Ann Price of Orange Park, FL, Catherine Sarah Wills and her husband, Dr. Greg Wills, of LaGrange, KY; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bryan and Mertie Bonner of Aurora; brother-in-law, Bryan Bonner, Jr. and his wife, Jenny, of Washington; sister-in-law, Sharon Bonner Tripp and her husband, Jay, of Blounts Creek; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by his father, Hertford Harding Edwards, and his son, Daniel Earl Edwards.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.. Monday, March 8, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home, Washington, and other times at the home, 9720 N.C. Highway 306 South, Aurora.
