Rev. John E. Williams, Sr. of 221 Magnolia Drive, Washington, died Thursday, March 4 2010, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Metropolitan AME Zion Church and burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.
Rev. Williams was the son of the late Rev. Leonard and Lydia Pearson Williams. He was a minister and college administrator and he also served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of State University of New York.
Survivors: his wife, Mrs. Audrey Williams of the home; 2 daughters: Sharon Williams of Washington, NC and Mrs. DonnaLynn Dixon (Antonio) of Greenville, NC; 1 son, John E. Williams Jr., Calif.; 3 sisters, Mary Canada, NY, Marian Williams, GA., and Rachel Bailey, NY; three grandchildren, 10 great grands.
Visitation Monday, March 8, 2010 from 7 p.m. to 7 p.m.
