Mrs. Sharon Powell Williams, age 56, a resident of 410 Crown Drive, Washington, died peacefully Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery and will be conducted by Ray West and Steve Hill. Pallbearers will be J.L. Marslender, Josh Powell, Joe Smith, Simon Smith, Gary Holland and Mike Mills.
Mrs. Williams was born in Craven County on January 12, 1954 to the late David Harrell Powell and Patricia Buck Lewis who survives. On August 30, 1975 she married Randol Ray Williams who survives. She was a 1972 graduate of Washington High School, attended Pitt Community College and was employed with DSM pharmaceuticals for 34 years. Mrs. Williams was a member of First Church of Christ.
Survivors include her mother Patricia Buck Lewis of Washington; her husband Randol Williams of the home; two daughters, Heather Williams Osborn and husband Tim of Washington, Stacey Williams of the home; one brother, Ricky Powell and wife Lisa of Washington; one sister, Kristal Andrews and husband Dean of Washington and two grandchildren, Mary Katherine Osborn and Timmy Osborn; a stepfather Alpheus Lewis of Bath and a stepmother Joyce Moret of Washington.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and other times at the home.
