Washington track starts out solid|Boys win, girls take second

The Washington Pam Pack track teams started out the season on a solid note. The boys won a tri-meet with 79 points, topping South Central (56.5) and D.H. Conley (33.5). The girls took second (51.5) behind South Central (75).
It was a very positive start, Pam Pack coach Jon Blank said.
Firsts for the boys went to Josh Brown in the 110 and 300 hurdles, William Ellegor in the long jump, Kevin Chapman in the shot, Forrest Latham in the discus and Raheem Patterson in the 200.
The 400 (Ellegor, Brown, Patterson, Darnell Windley), 800 (Raphael Gibbs, Ellegor, Windley, Patterson) and 1,600 (Dylan Mizelle, James Martin, James Hamblin, Gibbs) meter relay teams also won.
For the girls, firsts went to Alexis Spencer in the 100 hurdles, Jannell Griffin in the 300 hurdles, Haley Hiatt and Spencer tied in the high jump and the 400 girls relay team of Datisha Redmond, Yasmine Horton, Griffin and Spencer.
Washington has its home opener on Monday.
