Mrs. Mary Herrington Litchfield, age 84, a resident of 400 Riverside Road, Washington, died Friday, March 19, 2010 at her home.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery, Washington, conducted by Father Kevin Johnson.
Mrs. Litchfield was born in Palatka, Florida on August 9, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Joe Herrington and Kitty King Herrington. Mrs. Litchfield was manager of the Betsy Ross Store in Chocowinity for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Washington. Mrs. Litchfield was an avid bridge player.
On November 7, 1944, she married Irving Bonner Litchfield, who survives.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Irving Litchfield, Jr. and his wife, Pat of Washington, John Litchfield and Carol Carter of Ft. Myers, FL; a brother, Joe Herrington and his wife, Edith of Palatka, FL; three grandchildren, Maria Oswald and her husband, Tim, their daughter, Mary Bonner, their son, James “Jay” all of Houston, TX; John Litchfield II and his wife, Jennifer, their son, Gavin, their daughter, Meghan all of Melbourne Beach, FL; Kimberly Ann Seeley and her husband, Kevin, and their son, Carson all of Ft. Sill, OK.
The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside.
