Loraine Rae Burbage, age 87, a resident of Dover, NC passed over on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern, NC. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Hillside Funeral Service on Friday, June 4, 2010, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, also at Hillside Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 6309 Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, VA.
Mrs. Loraine was born in Pinetown, NC on August 26, 1922, daughter of the late Ottis and Sudie Waters. On January 12, 1946, she married Frederick Oswell Burbage, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Southwood Memorial Christian Church.
Mrs. Loraine is survived by three daughters; Darlene Logan and husband Wilbur, of Belhaven, Vicky Bowell and husband Mike, of Jacksonville, FL, and Tammy Galog and husband John, of Dover; two brothers, Carl J. Waters of Plymouth, and Sherman Waters of NY; three sisters, Ophelia Cutler of Washington, Selma Styons of Plymouth, and Linda W. Burbage of Pinetown; nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, and sister Velma Justice Waters.
