Mr. Charles Clayton Nicholson, 67, a resident of 21662 N.C. Highway 125, Williamston, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at his home.
A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Williamston, with the Revs. Roger Leggett and Linwood Conner officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Nicholson was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Martin County, son of Evelyn Rogerson Nicholson Clark, who survives, and the late Carroll Elec Nicholson. He was an Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. He was married to Dorcas Nicholson, who survives. The couple were married July 1, 1967. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Williamston.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheri Hansen and husband, John, of Williamston and Emily Wayne and husband, Mitchell, of Williamston; three brothers, Gene Carroll Nicholson and Tony Whitley, both of Oak City, and Garland Nicholson of Williamston; three grandchildren, Shea and Jana Hansen and Riley Wynne; a special nephew, Daniel Nicholson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clay Nicholson, in 1993.
