Mrs. Balbina Hajouk Paszt, age 94, a resident of 8817 US Hwy. 264 E., Washington, died Monday July 26, 2010.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday July 31, 2010 at Mother of Mercy Catholic Church and will be conducted by Father M. Arturo Cabra. Burial will follow at Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Billy Wayne Apple, Ricky Paszt, Joe Apple, E. J. Paszt, Stephen Paszt, Matt Apple and Daniel Paszt will serve as pallbearers. Brooks Elks, Jeffrey Elks, Randy Paszt, Scott Rogerson and Blake Paszt will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Paszt was born in Poland on March 27, 1916. She married Peter S. Paszt who preceded her in death. She was employed with Samson Shirt Factory for 25 years and was a member of Mother of Mercy Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Richard S. Paszt and wife Lola of Washington, Stan J. Paszt and wife Mary Lou of Chocowinity, Edmund J. Paszt of Pinetown and wife Faye; fifteen grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kazia Paszt Apple.
There will be a 6:30 p.m. rosary service Friday July 30, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. following the rosary service.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Mother of Mercy Catholic Church Building Fund, 112 W. 9th St., Washington, NC 27889.
