Mrs. Virginia Elizabeth Horton, 71, of 3D Olde Towne Apts., Plymouth died Friday, July 30, 2010 at Washington County Hospital.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lily of the Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Jasper Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Spruill Eternal Rest Home Cemetery.
Mrs. Horton was born in Washington County on Feb. 19, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Edgar Thigpen and Dessie Wynn Thigpen. She was married to the late David U. Horton. She was a retired employee at Washington County Hospital.
Survivors include her sons: Larry Donnell Barrow, Edgar Barrow, both of Plymouth, Lorenzo Horton, Ahoskie, Leslie Horton, Kentucky; daughter: Juanita Horton, Plymouth; five sisters: Lillie Montaque, Niagara Falls, NY, Mary Rouse, Long Island, NY, Eddie O. Thigpen, Georgia Lucas, Guernita Simmons, all of Plymouth and eleven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-7 Tuesday at Lily of the Valley Baptist Church and other times at the home of her son, Edgar T. Barrow, 110 Logan Avenue, Plymouth.
