Mrs. Julia Rae Peed Beacham Gerard, age 80, died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Britthaven of Washington.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington conducted by Dr. Michael Price.
Julia was born May 14, 1930, daughter of Helen Taylor Peed and Tillman Roscoe Peed, who predeceased her. She was married to Clarence Anderson Beacham, Sr. and of that union was born a son Clarence Anderson Beacham, Jr. (Andy). Later she married Richard Earl Gerard, Sr. who predeceased her.
Julia was very active until her health failed her being a member of the First Christian Church in Washington and an active member of the Degree of Pocahontas and served as past Great Pocahontas.
She is survived by her caring and loving son, Andy Beacham, who was the light of her life, and his wife, Nell of Washington; her granddaughter, Andrea Beacham McLawhorn and her husband, Bruce of Clay Root; her grandson, Lewis Gray Holloman and his wife, Emmy of Washington; and her great grandson, Adam McLawhorn of Clay Root.
In addition to her parents, Julia was also predeceased by a step father, Jack Daniels; brothers, Tillman R. Peed, Guy Adrian Peed, Clyde Wesley Peed and sisters, Edna Peed McQuay and Bessie Mae Peed.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Paul Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, Andy Beacham, 364 Neck Road, Washington.
