Richard Keith Wells of Wilmington, NC died Monday, September 6, 2010 at his residence.
He was born in Charlotte, NC on May 19, 1956 the son of Dorothy Miller Barker and the late Horace Wells.
Keith grew up in Charlotte, NC, graduated from Myers Park High School and later lived in Myrtle Beach, SC and most recently in Wilmington, NC.
Keith at one time had been actively involved in competitive weight lifting. He dearly loved the beach, being outdoors and occasionally going deer hunting. He was a voracious reader on many subjects, but of late was particularly interested in the transportation and trucking industry. Keith had been in the home improvement business and most recently was a driver for Innman Trucking Inc. When not driving cross country, Keith attended St. Andrews On-The-Sound Episcopal Church. Keith loved God, his family and friends and will be sincerely missed.
Surviving are his Mother, Dorothy M. Barker and husband Stonie of Naples, FL; brother, David H. Wells of Washington, NC; two sisters, Linda W. Pistone and husband Pete of Cornelius, NC and Janice W. Rich and husband Bob of Washington, NC; four nephews, Paul Hackney and wife Susan of Tega Cay, SC, Travis Wells and wife Jaime of Tega Cay, SC, Bryan Rich and wife Ashleigh of Wilmington, NC, and Marshall Rich and wife Melissa of Raleigh, NC.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
