Billy Claude Corey, Sr., 75, died Saturday, October 2, 2010.
A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel by Dr. Danny Robertson and Rev. Ron Estes. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Corey, a native of Beaufort County, had been a resident of Pitt County for the past 23 years. For more than 38 years he was employed with the A&P Food Chain as a clerk and for 15 years as a co-manager. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church in Washington.
Mr. Corey was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching John Wayne and Elvis Presley movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Sandra Corey Mobley, a brother and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Paramore Corey; son, Billy Claude Corey, Jr. of Greenville; granddaughter, Mandy Corey of Williamston; son-in-law, Steve Mobley of Washington; sister-in-law, Faye Corey of Washington; and a number of nieces and nephews including a special niece, Linda Boyd and husband, Kenneth, of Washington.
