Mr. Victor Eugene Williams, Sr., age 102, a resident of 108 Dogwood Drive, Washington, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Williams was born in Buxton, N.C. on March 27, 1908, to the late Urias and Sainty Stowe Williams. On Dec. 26, 1951, he married Sue Moye Williams of Washington who survives. He retired after 28 years of service with the United States Coast Guard. Mr. Williams was a member of the First Baptist Church of Washington and was fondly known to many as “Uncle Vic”.
Survivors include his wife, Sue W. Williams of the home; his daughter, Mary Susan Mills and husband, Sam, of Columbia, S.C.; his granddaughter, Helen Elizabeth Mills of Columbia, S.C.; niece, Geraldine Bennett McKinley of Washington; great nephews, Beau and Rain Bennett and numerous other nieces and nephews. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his son, Victor E. Williams, Jr. and four brothers and five sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home of Washington. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
