Elizabeth Poindexter Fearing Gillam, 93, of Windsor, N.C., died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Three Rivers Nursing Home.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Mrs. Gillams home, 207 S. King St., Windsor.
Mrs. Gillam was born in Windsor, N.C., on Oct. 17, 1917. She was the daughter of the late John Bartlett Fearing, Jr. and Louise Rascoe Fearing of Windsor. She attended Salem College. She was married to the late Carroll Hasseltine Gillam. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mrs. Gillam was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Hasseltine Gillam, and her brother, John Bartlett Fearing. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Rascoe Bond Gillam and his wife, Jackie Bennett Gillam, of Jamesville, Elizabeth Gillam Hall and her husband, John Hubbard Hall, Jr., of Nags Head, Constance Gillam Burke and her husband, Ronald Gary Burke, of Nags Head, and Penny Gillam Sermons and her husband, Wayland James Sermons, Jr., of Washington, N.C..; and her grandchildren and their spouses, Carroll Gillam Hall and his partner, Bradley Alexander Crittenden, of Pittsboro, William Tuttle Hall and his wife, Christine Bui Hall, of Nags Head, Eric Bradford Burke and his wife, Cynthia Calderon Burke, of Chicago, Ill., Elizabeth Aaron Sermons of Washington, D.C., and Wayland James Sermons, III of Raleigh.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Windsor United Methodist Church and Lawrence Memorial Library.
