Down East Seniors

The Down East Seniors met at the Hampton Inn on Wednesday, Feb. 9. President Charlie Moore opened the meeting at 10 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Ed Sample led the singing of “America,” and Dave Kelly delivered the invocation.

Vernon Teeter introduced his speaker, Philip Mobley, director of Washington’s Parks and Recreation Department. Mobley talked about progress being made toward development of a bicycle and hiking trail that would eventually run from Washington to Greenville. He also discussed improvements being made along the downtown waterfront, including additional, larger, boat slips.

Dan Olson conducted the drawing, the winner of which was Julius Brauer.
