I am calling to say amen to the guest editorial written by Cindy Baldwin that appeared in Thursday’s paper.

Why in the world would the sheriff’s office run up legal costs of more than $5,000 for a simple small-claims action of less than $250? Just who authorized hiring the largest and most powerful law firm in North Carolina when the county has an attorney who certainly could have handled such a trivial matter?

To Mike Voss: Great article in Thursday’s paper. Keep up the good work.

According to an oil expert, natural gas is selling at the equivalent of $30 per barrel, versus crude oil at $100 per barrel. When are we going to stand up and take a stance so that natural gas is available to residents in Belhaven and eastern Beaufort County?

I just received my light bill. I know I am not using the amount of electricity that it states. I think Washington Electric Utilities needs to check its computer. Its settings may be off.
