Toler faces identity-theft charge

On Jan. 12, the Beaufort County Sheriff ’s Office received a report of a fraud that occurred at a business on N.C. Highway 33 East in Chocowinity. The victim reported his personal information had been used by someone to obtain payment for work.
As a result of an investigation, Investigator Rob Voliva obtained a warrant charging Daniel Elliot Toler, 27, of Old Brick Road, Vanceboro, with one count of identity theft. Toler was arrested by the sheriff ’s office on Feb. 24. He was released under a $5,000 unsecured bond.
