The arsons must stop
Published 1:00 am Friday, March 11, 2011
Over the past few weeks, Beaufort County has been rocked by a rash of suspected arsons.
To date, no occupied homes have been targeted, but the lives of firefighters and law-enforcement personnel have been placed in danger by the reckless acts of the culprit or culprits.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation have been investigating these incidents.
We hope their investigation will lead to an arrest soon.
We know little to nothing about the people or person behind these fires. Is this the work of a group or a single serial arsonist? Are there copycat firebugs out there? We just don’t know.
We do know these fires must stop before someone gets hurt or killed.
If you have any information about these fires or who may be behind them, please call Beaufort County Crime Stoppers at 252-974-6400.
Crime Stoppers doesn’t require your name, just your knowledge. If you know who may be starting these fires, help stop them before further damage is done, or someone loses his or her life.
