They were selected for their contribution in the areas of nursing education, administration, research and practice. Krupa, of Chocowinity, retired as director of undergraduate student services in the ECU College of Nursing but still teaches community health nursing part-time. She is a consultant at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and co-owner of the Inner Banks Artisans’ Center in Washington. Perry, of Broad Creek, served as dean of the ECU College of Nursing from 1969 until 1981. During her tenure, the nursing alumni association was established and the Beta Nu chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, the international honor society for nurses, was chartered.
