Rep. Bill Cook, R-Beaufort County, who represents District 6 in the state House, will host a town hall-style meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Superior Courtroom of the Beaufort County Courthouse.

The meeting is open to the public. The courthouse is located at 112 W. Second St., Washington.

In a brief presentation, Cook will share what is happening in the General Assembly. After the presentation, the floor will be open for questions and comments from those attending. The focus should be on issues and items of concern related to the state Legislature. Speakers will be asked to identify themselves. The press is expected to report on the meeting.

“I’ll try to brief people attending on what has been going on in Raleigh, but I am even more interested in listening,” Cook said. “I hope people will come out and help us do a better job of representing them by expressing their ideas, comments and, particularly, their suggestions.”
