Donald L. Stotesberry received The Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award at the 2011 North Carolina Agricultural Aviation Convention held at the Senator Bob Martin Eastern Agricultural Center in Williamston. The award is presented to those who are recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration’s Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award Program to have conducted 50 or more consecutive years of safe flight operations and exhibited professionalism, skill and aviation expertise. Stotesberry still flies a Turbine Thrush on a daily basis while managing Donald’s Flying Service, an agricultural spraying operation, and having an aircraft maintenance facility.
