On Dec. 3, 2010, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of animal cruelty in Blount’s Creek. The report indicated a hunter shot a dog with a rifle and left the dog to die after dragging it out of a field.
On May 19, Investigator Wesley Waters obtained a warrant charging Kristy Christenberry, 33, of N.C. Highway 32 South, Plymouth, with one count of felony cruelty to animals.
On Friday, Christenberry turned herself in at the magistrates’ office. She was released after posting a $2,500 secured bond.
