Southside honors its athletes

Southside High School recognized its student-athletes who participated in spring sports at the annual athletic ceremony on May 25.
Tony Grice and Atyana Starkie received the Male and Female Athlete of the Year awards, while Treshon Blount and Bailey Hobbs received the male and female coaches’ awards.
Awards were also presented to the following student-athletes: cheerleading: Danita Gibbs (MVP), Kendedra Williams (best base), Danielle Clark (cheer hawk), Ka’Shauna Harvey (best flyer), Sandy Wilson (most improved), Katie Boyd (best newbie), Nicolshia Crawford (most precious) JV Basketball: Rokeem Miller (MVP) men’s nasketball: Reggie Selby (MVP), Curtis Myers (offensive player of the year), Tony Grice (defensive player of the year)
Women’s Basketball: Katisha Hyman(MVP), Chante Painter (coaches’ award), Quaneika Thomas (leadership award) baseball: Treshon Blount (MVP), Terrill Moore (MVP), William Peele (Coaches’ Award) softball: Savannah Mumford (MVP), Savannah Mumford (best offensive player), Valarie Hodges (best defensive player), Chris Morris (coaches’ award), Bailey Hobbs (coaches’ award) JV baseball: Hayden Bogart (MVP) men’s track and field: Curtis Myers (MVP), Brandon Jordan (MVP), Tony Grice (player of the year) women’s track and field: Atyana Starkie (MVP), Katie Boyd (most improved), Corey Watford (coaches’ award).
