Mr. Lacey Wayland Rowe Sr., age 63, a resident of 15333 N.C. Highway 33 E., Blounts Creek, died Monday, June 6, 2011, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.

Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church and will be conducted by Ottis Cox and the Rev. Chuck Owens.

Mr. Rowe was born in Beaufort County on April 12, 1948, to the late Thurston Hubert and Rosetta Lewis Rowe and was a 1966 graduate of Aurora High School. On Jan. 7, 1967, he married Deborah Carrow who survives. He was a lab foreman with PCS where he retired in 1995 after 28 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Deborah C. Rowe; two sons, Lacey Wayland Rowe Jr. of Wilmar, Travis Rowe and wife Kimberly of Blounts Creek; two brothers, William Rowe and wife Barbara of Blounts Creek, Calvin Rowe and wife Bertha of Blounts Creek; two sisters, Judy Harding of Grimesland, Lois Lewis and husband Garland of Blounts Creek; five grandchildren, Jaime Rowe, Brittany Green, Austin Rowe, Joshua Rowe, Reilly Rowe and one great-granddaughter, Kaeleigh Green. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ervin Rowe.

The family will receive friends from noon until the funeral hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
