Mr. Robert Lee Wells, 65, a resident of Columbia, N.C., died Monday, June 13, 2011.

Private memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Wells was born in Beaufort County on Feb. 3, 1946, to the late Warren and Christine Alligood Wells. He worked as a welder and other jobs in construction for many years.

Survivors include one daughter; Shelly Hester of Camden, S.C., two sons; Robert Lee Wells, Jr. of Washington, Michael Shannon Wells of Williamston, two sisters; Mary Ann Leggett of Washington, Peggy McLaughlin of Wilson, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother; Ronald Thomas Wells.
