Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

When a pro football player stubs his toe or a golfer gets a blister, you write half a column about it. During the baseball spring training, not a single word was printed in your paper. Now you’ve quit publishing the daily scores and standings. Except for wrapping small dead fish, your rag is useless.
Highway 17 is a farce and you wonder if they will ever complete it.
