Johnny Ray Goddard

On Tuesday, June 21, 2011, Johnny Ray Goddard was ushered into God’s presence.

Johnny Ray was born Aug. 17, 1945 to the late Johnnie and Naomi Goddard. Johnny Ray graduated from P.S. Jones High School as was on the football team. He was affectionately known as “Biggum.” After high school, Johnny Ray went to Elizabeth City State University. Soon after, he then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in the rank of Lance Corporal.

Johnny Ray leaves to cherish his memory his wife Angela; two stepsons, Ricky and Ghee; three stepdaughters, Shawn, Kim and Hope; and one son, Shaun; two brothers, Henry Goddard (Barbara) of Margate, Fla., and William Goddard of Garner, N.C.; four sisters, Laura Floyd of Paterson, N.J., Mary Wilson (Fenner), Margie Goddard-Cobb (David), and Gloria Goddard-Crenshaw (Robert), all of Washington, N.C.; and a host of relatives and friends.

Home going services will be rendered Thursday, June 30, 2011, by March’s Funeral Home, corner of Hilton and Frederick streets, Baltimore, MD 21229.

A local memorial service will be held at Randolph Funeral Home on Bonner Street, Washington, N.C., Monday, June 27, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
