On June 26, 2011, Mrs. Mary L. Short Corey transitioned into peaceful rest at Martin General Hospital.

She is survived by, children; Kelly E. Corey, Jr. (Regina) of Williamston, N.C., James C. Corey, (Angela), of Washington N.C., Darrell M. Corey (Valeri), and Ralph L. Corey (Laverne) of Williamston, N.C.; sister, Addie Crosby of Greenville, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Cornerstone  Missionary Baptist Church, 713 Warren St., Williamston, N.C., with Pastor Russell Shaw officiating. Viewing will be held on Tuesday at the church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with family visitation from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
