Myra O. Holton

Myra O. Holton, 86, of Lebanon, Tenn., formerly of Huntsville, Ala., passed away peacefully Saturday in Hermitage, Tenn., following a brief illness. She was born in Hyde County, N.C. Myra lived in Huntsville, Ala., for over 50 years where she was employed by the Mill Fabric Store for many of those years. She was a faithful member of Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Palma Clay Holton and two brothers, Walter O’neal, Jr. and Lewis O’neal. She leaves behind a sister, Rilma Benson of Alexandria, Va., and a special sister-in-law, Catherine O’neal of Belhaven, N.C.
She is survived by her daughters, Wilma and husband Jack Ellis, of Huntsville, Ala., and Sandra and husband Ed Davidson, of Lebanon, Tenn.; grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband Bob Smythe, of LaGrange, Ga., Michael and wife Brenda Davis, of Jefferson City, Mo., Dana and husband Brandon Littrell, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., Kevin and wife Barbara Davis, of Birmingham, Ala., and Lori Whaley, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Casi and Andrew Smythe, Christina, Kayla and Jason Binkley, Madison and Clayton Davis, Lindsey and Katelin Whaley; extended family members Karen, Amber and Sarah Lagon; and several nieces and nephews.
Myra was known for her enthusiasm for life which she passed along to others, and rarely met a stranger. Her family is blessed to have had her in their lives and will miss her warm, loving, selfless nature that she instilled in all of us.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with visitation one hour prior to the service at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Ave. Huntsville, AL 35805 with Dr. Larry Inman officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
