Mrs. Janet Marie Haney Bellew, a resident of Chocowinity, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at UHS Inpatient Hospice, Greenville.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, 2011, at the Cypress Landing Bay Club, Chocowinity, officiated by D.J. Maxey.
Janet was born in Delaware County, Penn., on March 11, 1939, daughter of the late Henry Rayner Haney and Frances Gertrude Purner Haney. She was a graduate of Haverford High School, Havertown, Penn. She married Donald Edward Bellew who survives her on March 9, 1957.
She and her husband owned Crest Foam Industries in New Jersey. Janet moved to N.C. to join her West Chester, Penn., bridge club friends. She loved the many activities she participated in at Cypress Landing. Janet also enjoyed touring the U.S. and abroad with other vintage Bentley and Rolls Royce enthusiasts. She looked forward to summers at the beach with her family in Avalon.
In addition to her husband, Donald of the home, she is survived by her children: Lori  Henderson and husband Mac of McLean, Va., and Kim Harman and husband Tom of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; her grandchildren: Holly Henderson, Juliet Henderson, Chip Henderson, Jason Milling, Trevor Harman and Grant Harman and her great-granddaughter: Alexa Stirparo. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Henry R. Haney Jr.
The family will receive friends following the service.
