Sandy Haddock of Chocowinity called in the unusual sight of a mama bear and two cubs camped out in a tree bordering her backyard on Monday. The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission told the Haddocks to remove their dogs from the backyard, sit tight, and the bears would come down when they were ready, which they did about 15 hours later.
