Mrs. Edna Morgan Canady, age 80, a former resident of Highland Park Estates, Washington, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Ridgewood Manor in Washington.

A private graveside service will be held.

Mrs. Canady was born in Pamlico County on Nov. 29, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Stonewall Jackson Morgan and Alene Jones Morgan Voliva. Mrs. Canady was a retired insurance agent. She was a former member of Wanoca Presbyterian Church and had attended Snowd Branch Church of God.

Mrs. Canady was married to Herbert Lee Canady, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Lilley and wife Andrea of Greenville, and Allen Moore Jr. of Washington; two sisters, Beatrice Woolard of Morehead City, and Verdia Weakley of Portsmouth, Va.; four grandsons, Jason Lilley, Christopher Moore, Joshua Moore, and Zachary Lilley; and three granddaughters, Jamie Lilley, Brandie Bouquio, and Kayla Lilley.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Canady was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lilley.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home of her son, Allen Moore Jr., 4420 Market Street Ext., Washington.
