Daisy Crisp Leggett

Daisy Crisp Leggett, age 95, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, in the River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Washington. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Mausoleum Chapel at Pinewood Memorial Park, Greenville. Officiating will be the Rev. Jimmy Moore of First Baptist Church, Washington, and Dr. Stephen Prevatte of Oakmont Baptist Church, Greenville. Visitation will follow the service.

Born to Mr. James Charlie Crisp and Verna Warren Crisp on Aug. 3, 1916, Mrs. Leggett was one of 10 children, all deceased except one sister, Rachel Savage and husband, Gene, of Everetts. In addition to her parents and siblings, Mrs. Leggett was preceded in death by her husband, Josephus Leggett.

Surviving are daughter, Peggy Cox Smith; granddaughter, Lindy Smith Hudson and husband, Danny, of Greenville; great-grandson, William L. Hudson, of Greenville; nieces and nephews. Stepchildren include Joseph Leggett of Chicago, Ill.; Camilla Davis and husband, Ed, of Greenville; Betsy Bohannon and husband, Chris, of Roanoke, Va.; John Leggett and wife, Susan, of Cary; Sarah Peacock and husband, Rob, of Charlotte; five step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Widow’s Mite Building Fund, First Baptist Church, 113 N. Harvey St., Washington, NC 27889.
