Ida “Jenny” Waters

Miss Ida Virginia “Jenny” Waters, age 85, a former resident of Village Circle, Washington, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Ridgewood Manor Nursing Center.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by pastor Travis Boyd. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Robbie Polk, Justin Waters, Allen Michael Waters, J.T. Parker, Frankie Parker and Kenny Parker will serve as pallbearers.
Miss Jenny was born in Beaufort County on Jan. 31, 1926, daughter of the late William Asa Waters and the late Bertha Gertrude Burbage Waters. She was a seamstress at Sampson’s Shirt Factory and retired with 35 years of service. Miss Jenny was a member of Grace Pentecostal Holiness Church and had been attending Wanoca Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a brother: Frankie Waters of Grimesland; nieces and nephews which Miss Jenny helped raise and considered as her own children: Jimmy Waters and his wife Lou, Libbey Polk and her husband Robert, Linda Boyd and her husband Travis and Robert Waters and his wife Kathy Waters, all of Washington. She also helped raise her great niece: Angie Boyd Davis, and was like a second grandma to Angie. Miss Jenny was also survived by other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Edgar Waters, Norris Waters and James Robert Waters, and four sisters: Dora Waters, Katie Lancaster, Hazel Wilkerson and Helen Baker.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and at other times at the home of Miss Jenny’s niece, Linda Boyd, located at 616 Hudnell St., Washington.
