Lisa Davenport, COTA/L, and Jamie Langston, COTA/L, with Washington Therapy Center, are certified Level 1 Handwriting Without Tears specialists. Such handwriting specialists must complete an extensive process successfully to achieve certification.

These individuals are recognized for their expertise in using the Handwriting Without Tears program, which is an easy-to-use curriculum that uses engaging multi-sensory techniques and research-based methods to make handwriting a natural and automatic skill. They also have a desire to help children and experience sharing their handwriting knowledge with others.

Washington Therapy Center, a division of OT Plus Inc., is offering a free workshop for parents and children on Handwriting Without Tears on Tuesday. There are two sessions, one from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and the other from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. This workshop consists of free screenings on examining a child’s handwriting and providing helpful tips on improving handwriting skills.
