Newkirk, Keating face charges

On Nov. 4, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a larceny that occurred at a residence on Summerlin Lane near Vanceboro. The victim reported several metal items, including aluminum windows, as stolen.
As a result of an investigation, Investigator Wesley Waters obtained warrants charging Keith Lamont Newkirk, 38, of Randolph Road, Washington, and Marticka Sharie Keating, 20, of Randolph Road, Washington, each with one count of felony larceny and two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.
On Wednesday, Newkirk and Keating were arrested by the sheriff’s office and each held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond set by Magistrate Eric Holmes.
