Eleanor “Kay” Hines

Mrs. Eleanor “Kay” Wall Hines, age 70, a former resident of 808 Pennsylvania Ave., Washington, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, surrounded by her family at the home of her son.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by pastor Kenneth Pritchard.

Mrs. Hines was born in Craven County on May 17, 1941, the daughter of the late Daniel Webster Wall and the late Terry Franks Wall. She attended Farm Life High School. Mrs. Hines married Charles Hines who preceded her in death. She was a nurse’s aide at Elks Rest Home and was a member of Chocowinity Church of God.

Mrs. Hines is survived by her daughters, Nancy Berry and husband Herman of Washington and Carol Seamon and husband MSgt Darin Seamon of Washington; her son, Billy M. Avery Jr. and wife Becky of Chocowinity; five grandchildren, Kristin Huber and husband Kelvin, Sloan Avery, Tori Avery, Chelsey Seamon and Gunnar Seamon; two great-grandchildren, Chris Huber and Ashley Huber; and her beloved pet, Cricket. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Wall and a brother, Rodney Wall.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of her son, 490 Bay Lake Drive in Chocowinity.
