Ann “Corinne” Harris White

Ann “Corinne” Harris White, 81, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2011, at Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, N.C., after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Mildred Faye and Evans Harris of Swan Quarter, N.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years: Lewis White, and two brothers: William and Jay Harris.
Corinne was a devoted and long-time member of Balfour United Methodist Church of Hendersonville and worked throughout her life as a dietician. She retired from Mission Hospital.
Corinne is survived by her daughter, Mildred White Riddle of Fletcher, with whom she lived for the past 20 years. Other survivors include three sisters: Edith Simpson of Swan Quarter, N.C., Jane O’Neal, and Rosie and husband David Miller of Havelock, N.C.; one brother: Evans and wife Trudy Harris of Durham, N.C.; two grandchildren: Amanda Riddle Sanders and her husband Jason of New Hampshire and Adam Riddle and his wife Samantha of Fletcher, N.C.; five great-grandchildren: Isaac Kaylee, and Hannah Sanders and Ezekiel and Jensen Riddle; one special friend: Priscilla McMinn Cawthorn whom she referred to as her second daughter.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Balfour United Methodist Church with the Revs. Deb Patterson and Jim Prichard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Burial will follow the service in Shepherd Memorial Park in Hendersonville. Corinne loved and graciously served her Lord, her friends and her family throughout her life. She counted the times spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as her greatest pleasures. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Four Seasons Hospice and Elizabeth House for their tender care, with special thanks to Dr. Hicks and Renee Richardson, RN.
