Geneva P. Waters

Mrs. Geneva Porter Waters, 96, of Vanceboro, died Saturday, December 17, 2011.
A graveside funeral service will be held Monday at 1 PM in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington. Serving as pallbearers are Robbie Chandler, Greg Miller, Jay Miller, Greg McRoy, Chris McRoy and Terry Hollowell. Mrs. Waters, daughter of the late Ira Leon and Martha Coward Porter, was born on March 5, 1915 in Beaufort County. She was a homemaker and loved working in her flower garden when her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by husbands, John R. Chandler, George W. Lewis and Jessie A. Waters; daughters, Dorothy Chandler and Gloria Hollowell; sons, Robert Chandler and Darrell Chandler; brothers, Leon, Will, Fountain, Alton and Edsil Porter; and sisters, Nola P. Lane, Verna P. Clark, Bertha P. Taylor, Marietta P. Dixon and Louise P. Buck.
Surviving, son, Leroy Chandler and wife, Ada, of Chocowinity; daughter, Lucille Nobles and husband, Clarence, of New Bern; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Vanceboro Sunday from 6 – 8 p.m.
