For the first time in 35 years, the Beaufort County Concert Association will sell individual-admission tickets for selected concerts, including The Water Coolers on Jan. 10.

Tickets have been priced at $25 per concert. Tickets may be ordered and paid for in advance. BCCA has opened up a PayPal account which is available on its website, www.gobcca.org. Or, call 940-1222 to make a reservation.

Tickets for The Water Coolers may be picked up at 7 p.m. Jan. 10 when the doors open at the Washington High School Performing Arts Center.

Tickets may also be purchased for $25 on the night of the show in the lobby.

“We have been working on the next season since last summer and we will have five superb concerts,” said Gene Geesey, president of BCCA. “We thought it would be a good idea to make some of our outstanding performances available on a single-ticket basis. Our plan allows us to offer a sample of our concerts to folks in Beaufort, Martin, Washington and Pamlico counties who may not have held season memberships.”

The association’s final concert of the year is “The American Spirit,” on March 22. A number of local people will be in the chorus for this production.

The event will be highlighted by the singing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” by a local high-school student. Each high school will select two students to audition for this show. The auditions will be administered by board members Pat Wheelock and Larry Ahlman. Each auditioning student will be provided with complimentary tickets for his or her entire family for this program.

The student selected to sing the national anthem will be provided with complementary tickets for his or her family for the entire 2012-2013 season.
