The only people who believe in our “valued jury system” are those that can afford effective lawyers. Otherwise your odds of being convicted are about the same regardless of whether you are guilty or innocent.
Being reared on a tobacco farm in Beaufort County does not predispose a person to avoid entertainment and cultural experiences at the Turnage Theater. Our rural family appreciates the talent and well-practiced skills of musicians and other performing artists. I suggest that some people need to be more thoughtful before they belittle us country folks with comments regarding our presumed lack of cultural sophistication.
To serve and protect. The sheriff’s office and police department need kudos for the effort they’ve put in protecting the town after the robberies. The cops have really blanketed the area, and it’s appreciated and everyone feels more comfortable. Thank you, guys.
