To the Editor:

To the people who think when in a nursing home you are put away from all the world. Well, I am sorry for your nursing home. At Ridgewood Manor, we have something every day. We have morning devotion daily and Sunday morning Sunday school class and communion provided by First Christian Church. Lesson books are provided by Asbury United Methodist Church.

On Christmas Eve, we had candlelight (electric) service at 6 p.m. It was sponsored by Ridgewood Sunday school class with music by Dennis Smith, the reading of the birth of Jesus Christ from Luke 2:1-7 and the editorial in the Washington Daily News.

On New Year’s Eve, a party was hosted by Doris A. Fletcher, Louis Fletcher and Bryan Tuck. Music provided by Dennis Smith on the piano. A great turnout for each occasion.

We never have a day without something. I love it at Ridgewood Manor; been here nearly nine years. Get the Washington Daily News and have cable TV, so I don’t miss out on the news. We enjoy our golden years.
