Beaufort County Commissioner Robert Cayton on Monday said he will give up his seat on the Beaufort County Board of Commissioners to run for state House.

Cayton, an Aurora resident, will seek election in House District 3.

Cayton is a Democrat.

Also running for this seat is Republican Wayne Langston of Chocowinity.
