Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

What’s amazing to me is that otherwise intelligent people putting the Daily News opinion page together could be so blinded by the idiotic stuff that Gene Lyons puts out.

The Washington Daily News needs to change its masthead to read “The Washington Daily News — a weekly newspaper brought to you in six installments.”

I’d like to thank the Washington Daily News for what it does as far as covering local sports. We may not all be interested in sports, but it certainly is wonderful to see it when our kids are recognized and when local talent and lots of newspapers don’t do that.

Washington High School softball teams need to have two separate coaches, one set for varsity, one set for JV. That way we wouldn’t have a problem with the JV team not having any practice time, and the first time they know how to field a ball is during a game situation.
