Helen Adams Foskey

Mrs. Helen Adams Foskey, 83, a resident of 103 Smith St., Amityville, N.Y., and formerly of Aurora, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Parkview Nursing Home following a lengthy illness.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at J.S. Goodwin Memorial Chapel with Apostle Ronald Allen Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, N.Y.

Mrs. Foskey was born in Aurora on Dec. 12, 1928, to the late Charlie Adams and Annie Bynum Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Foskey Sr., and her siblings, Nehemiah Adams and Naomi A. Hooten.

Mrs. Foskey is survived by five children, Vena Moore, Annie P. Jack and Carolyn Foskey, all of Amityville, N.Y., Dorothy Foskey of Atlanta, Ga., and William Foskey Jr. of Amityville, N.Y.; one sister, Mary Pagan of Farmingdale, N.Y.; two brothers, William P. Adams (Janie) of Westbury, N.Y., and Joseph Adams of Farmingdale, N.Y.; one uncle, Jesse Bynum of Aurora; two special nephews, John Morris of Amityville, N.Y., and Frank Foskey (Hattie) of Aurora; special cousin, Georgia Taylor of Aurora; 30 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday. Condolences may be forwarded to the home or to J.S. Goodwin Funeral Home.
