The Raleigh-based folk duo Scott and Jay will perform at 8 p.m. tonight at the BCTMA-sponsored Union Alley Coffeehouse in downtown Washington. Scott Dameron and Jay Ladd V began performing together when they met as college roommates. The two occasionally collaborated through the years before reuniting for Scott and Jay’s debut CD in the spring of 2010.

“Walker 904A,” named for the duo’s college dorm room, was released in August of 2010, garnering many awards and acknowledgements from the folk music community. In November of last year, they were named Winner of the North Carolina Co-op Songwriters Contest, as well as the Charlotte Music Awards Folk Artist of the Year.

The duo combines harmonies, acoustic guitars and keyboard in melodic original songs.

The Union Alley Coffeehouse is located in the Inner Banks Artisans’ Center at 158 W. Main St., Washington. For more information about Scott and Jay, visit their website at www.scottandjay.com.
