Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

Is the city going to clean up that swampy area from the new boat ramp over to the new bridge? I sure hope so.

I’d just like to say that the American people are being robbed at the gas pumps, and I, for one, do not believe the reasons behind these price increases. If the people want to do something about it, then everybody needs to band together and just buy what gas they absolutely have to have. I think you’ll see the price come down because it’s nothing but greed. One thing is for certain, they cannot drink it, so, therefore, they have to sell it.

I can tell you why the Quick Start II building has not sold. It’s not a white elephant. It’s a big, blue, ugly elephant, and whoever buys it is going to have to have it repainted. I hope somebody makes a better selection if they build another one.
