Thomas Frank Kowalski

Thomas Frank Kowalski, 79, of Plymouth, died Friday, March 30, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Born May 24, 1932, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of the late Joseph Kowalski and Anna Boyke Kowalski and was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Kowalski, Raymond Kowalski and Augusta Kowalski. Tom was a retired boiler mechanic with 28 year’s service with Weyerhaeuser Corporation, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict, and served in 1984 as a deacon of Riverside Baptist Church. He was a softball coach and volunteered as a carpenter for Plymouth High School play productions.

His family includes his wife, Mary Jane McCombs Kowalski of Plymouth; daughters, Rebecca K. Williams and husband Don of Plymouth, and Karen K. Moore of Chocowinity; son, David A. Kowalski of Chocowinity; grandchildren, Heather W. Gray and husband Jim, Lee Williams, Zachery Moore and Joseph Cody Jackson; great-granddaughter, Samantha G. Jackson and niece, Mary Ann Kurnat.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Maitland Funeral Home, Plymouth, with the Rev. Jimmy Hagwood officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
