SOUND OFF: 4/5/12

Sound Off highlights anonymous, brief takes on the news offered via telephone by Daily News readers.

In 2009, a Chicago transplant moved into the White House promising to bring change. Beaufort County has its own Chicago transplant, Warren Smith, demanding change (reference Sunday’s letter to the editor). I pose the question: is it change they both want, or control?

Please, Beaufort County voters, please vote. Let’s get some new county commissioners. Think about what we went through just to get our hospital. Please, remember this. Make an effort. Make an effort to vote. Please help us.

I disagree with the reader concerning either the “Easter tradition” or “Wright Flight takes off.” He was critical of it for being garbage, but it’s actually in keeping with your mission statement. So that’s the only way we’re going to get that kind of news coverage at all. But it does bring up the public policy question of the City Council reducing the number of police officers and firefighters, which is absolutely ludicrous and needs more public condemnation of a policy that would do that.
