Oscar Lee Smaw, 61, a resident of 101 Metro Court, Washington, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 1, 2012.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at Cornerstone Family Worship Center. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Oscar Lee was the son of the late Ernest Smaw and Hazel Ore Smaw Conner. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Banks Smaw of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Anthony Williams (Julia) of Roosevelt, N.Y., Teddy Smaw (Amy) of Clayton, Kevin Smaw of Fayetteville and Terence Smaw of the home; one daughter, Shemeka Smaw of Clayton; six brothers, Calvin Ore (Susan) of Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Melvin Smaw (Alison), James Smaw (Janie), and Randy Smaw, all of Chocowinity, Nelson Smaw of Durham and Clinton Smaw of Raleigh; six sisters, Hazel Rouse (Henry) of Washington, Christina S. Haywood (Amon) and Doris Logan, all of Chocowinity, Thelma Mills (Jimmie) of Greenville, Patricia McCuller (Henry) and Gladys Hines (Robert), all of Washington; 17 grandchildren and three great-granddaughters.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. today at the chapel. The body will be taken to the church Saturday one hour before the service.
